There’s an Iphone App For That!

I lived outside of the US and I have also taken many many trips all over the world. One of the questions asked most has been,

Most of my friends call me whenever they need an app. I am that person. You tell me what you are trying to do and I can find an app that will do it. Now don’t get me wrong. This was not an easy task. It took me a looooooong time to find apps that worked for me. I tried many many apps over the years. The ones I list here are the ones I use on a daily basis. To be honest, I don’t think I can be without them. One thing they must all do, work well with my Iphone. Yes I am an Iphone user. I never leave home without it.

Take a glance at my list of favorites below:

Evernote (Note Taking)

This app is everything to me.  I use it to load all of my documents, bookmarks, screenshots every single day. It’s easy to use and also has a free option. Everything I save is available for use all of my electronic devices. The most important feature for me is the ability to search within the app for any note. It doesn’t matter if I have written the note or if the information is within a document I have saved. It reads everything. Another feature I love is the ability to record meetings and take notes at the same time. All within the same app.  Evernote did it right. I have given up many of my other note taking apps just for this one. It’s great!

Fantastical (Calendar)

Oh my! Where do I start! This is a calendar app that I found while watching a youtube expert called Dotto Tech. I tried it. During the free trial I fell in love. Again, this is a searchable app. I am able to talk into my phone and it is so smart, it immediately downloads my event or todo to my calendar to the correct place and time. Again, this is another app that has all of my information in multiple places. It syncs across all devices and also has an awesome desktop version to make entries easy when typing.  Most importantly, it syncs to my google calendars. I can add or delete calendars, change the views and search for any entry I need. I’ve tried numerous calendars over the years and this one is hands down, the best!

Otter  Voice Dictation App (Free)

Have you ever tried to write a book, type a letter and just got tired of writing? While in comes otter! This app has helped me cut down on writing. It is a very intuitive app that puts times stamps where-ever you stop writing. You can also upload whatever you said to text, document or whatever you want!

Waze Navigaition GPS App (Travel Map -Interact with other Travelers)

Waze is my boo when traveling. This app locates all of the things that take the fun out of traveling and makes it easy for you to notify other travelers that are on the road also.  Other travelers tell you when there are roadblocks, conjestion, accidents, etc. It’s better than the native travel map loaded on your phone.

The website says “Join 100 million drivers already avoiding traffic, police, and hazards with Waze. I didn’t say that. They did. Try it. You’ll thank me later

Shazaam Song Recognition App

Have you ever wished you knew the name of that song. Well, no matter where you are, if you hear a song you like, pushdown on the on the big circle in the middle. It will listen, download the info for the song and give you the option of adding it to your favorite playlist on another app. Like Spotify.
